Here is one of Christy’s great homemade seasonings. *You can use it on chicken baked in the oven, pan-fried, or grilled.
*Remember to buy organic and avoid your food allergies when making this recipe! If you do not know your food allergies, get them tested soon!
INGREDIENTS:
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp cumin (add a touch more if you like it spicy)
¼ tsp cayenne (add a touch more if you like it spicy)
1 Tbsp powdered xylitol or golden monk fruit sweetener
(This is enough for about 6-8 chicken thighs, so it’s usually best to make a couple of batches ahead and store it in a jar, ready to use)
DIRECTIONS:
Best to pat chicken dry and then drizzle with Avocado oil.
Use a brush or your hands to coat the chicken front and back with oil.
Sprinkle the rub onto all the chicken evenly and rub it in to coat well.
You can use this on any part of the chicken (legs, thighs, breasts, or even whole). You just need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. It’s especially good when you glaze the chicken just before cooking or baste it at the end of cooking with a little of your favorite no sugar BBQ sauce. Yum!
