Dr. Samantha Thompson, DC

Location: Pensacola

The Wellness Way – Pensacola

Dr. Samantha grew up in Houston, Texas spending most of her time swimming, reading, and playing with/studying any creature she could get her hands on-from cicadas to bull frogs. She has always had a passion for discovering how things work, specifically within the body. Her desire to become a doctor started at the ripe age of three years old, when she dressed up as a brain surgeon for Halloween, horrifying the other kids with a brain in one hand and her candy basket in the other.

Eventually Dr. Samantha found her way to university where she studied as a pre-med student, thinking that she wanted to be an MD. It was while in school at the University of Texas in Tyler, that she met her future husband Colton- he was also interested in medicine and was on track to becoming a Doctor of Physical Therapy. During this time, Dr. Samantha began working in the emergency room as a medical scribe, following MDs all around the ER and listening to every patient interaction and all that goes on behind the scenes. It was during this time that a feeling of unease began to settle over her: every patient seemed to be getting prescribed lists of medications that they may or may not need. After doing further research into the trillion-dollar industry of pharmaceuticals, Dr. Samantha decided she wanted no part of that world.

This left Dr. Samantha with what she thought were limited options, what could she do with a degree in pre-medical sciences if she didn’t want to be an MD? Well, the world works in funny ways-some may call it divine intervention, and some may call it happenstance. The same week Dr. Samantha realized she no longer wanted to be an MD, Colton (her now husband and now Dr. Colton) came home exhilarated from a seminar he had just attended, lit up with passion for this thing called Chiropractic. As he told her all about this branch of medicine that could heal without surgery, without drugs, without any of the things she’d witnessed in the emergency room that made her wary of the profession, she realized this may be exactly what she needed.

Within six months, Dr. Samantha and Dr. Colton began their Doctorates in Chiropractic at Parker University in Dallas, Texas. After four long years of endless studying, dissecting, adjusting, and learning, she neared the end of her time in school, interning at the VA Hospital in Dallas. It came time for Dr. Samantha to start figuring out what her next step would be. Dr. Samantha comes from a family in which every woman has been diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease. Due to this firsthand experience of the struggles and hardships that can come with diagnoses that are difficult to understand, and even more difficult to treat, Dr. Samantha knew she wanted to be in a place where she could help the people who needed it the most. Life did that funny thing again where things seem to come together seamlessly, and Dr. Samantha found her way to The Wellness Way.

Dr. Samantha is passionate about healing the body in the least invasive and most natural way possible. Her curiosity drives her to understand the root cause of the problem and then treat the problem from the ground up. She has witnessed the power of an adjustment, a scientifically sound supplementation program, strategic lifestyle changes, and the importance of thorough testing and understanding; and is eager to share these things with all those she can.

Dr. Leslie Acreman, DC

Location: Lake Mary

The Wellness Way – Lake Mary

Dr. Leslie was born and raised in Brooksville, Florida. She stayed in Florida for her undergraduate studies where she attended University of Central Florida. She received multiple degrees: Bachelors of business administration with a focus of Finance and Marketing-sales track. She was then recruited to be a district sales manager for Frito-Lay North America. She stayed there for 3 years before leaving to go back to school for her bachelors of science with a focus of biology. Once she was done with that degree she returned to the healthcare field as a Licensed Optician. She remained in the optical field until 2019. Leslie was in a severe car accident where she experienced 18 months of chiropractic treatment and therapies to return back to health. While getting treated she shadowed the chiropractor and decided to apply to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida. While attending Palmer, Dr. Patrick and team came to speak about The Wellness Way during her 8th quarter of school. From there she enrolled in the student online university to learn more about the approach. She then chose to travel to Green Bay for her last quarter to shadow the clinic there, and the clinic in Iron Mountain Michigan where she spent time learning all she could and finding the Gonstead technique. This technique allowed her to truly be specific and fall in love with chiropractic care and The Wellness Way. She got to work closely with Dr. Laura during her preceptor and with testing and pin pointing created a plan to support her autoimmune thyroid condition. Within 3 weeks, the care plan had helped her so much she knew she wanted to open a clinic in Central Florida to help others. Dr. Leslie graduated and started working immediately in a personal injury clinic where she was able to give back to the patients what was once done for her. She stayed there for about a year before opening The Wellness Way Lake Mary office. She is very excited to help educate and guide patients to their optimal wellness goals.

On her own time she enjoys travel adventures and adrenaline. She has skydived, rides her slingshot with Coast2Coast Slingshot crew, enjoys mentoring apprentices, playing beach volleyball or bowling. She has a strong relationship with her family and friends. And is currently training her puppy Jax.

Dr. Hunter Puetz, DC

Location: Bismarck

The Wellness Way – Bismarck

Dr. Hunter was born and raised in Bismarck, North Dakota. He always has a passion for being healthy and staying active. He excelled in high school athletics thanks to his regular chiropractic care. He attended the University of Mary in Bismarck in the fall of 2014 where he ran track and received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science, and he received a minor in coaching. After he graduated, he was undecided on whether he wanted to pursue a career as a physical therapist or as a chiropractor. After much time in prayer and time spent shadowing different clinics, Hunter realized he was called to be a chiropractor. He then spent 10 months working for a Wellness Way affiliate office gaining valuable experience working for a chiropractic office.

During this time, Hunter had learned that his then fiancé Abby was struggling with serious health concerns. He found out that Abby had been diagnosed with PCOS when she was 13 years old, and she suffered from debilitating pain, abnormal cycles, and abdominal discomfort. Abby had seen specialist after specialist, and none were able to give her answers to her health concerns. They were beginning to lose hope and ultimately Abby was told that she should expect to have difficulty becoming pregnant, and she should be open to adoption being her only option to become a mom. Hunter was not willing to accept this answer and he pursued a different perspective. He found one in Dr. Patrick and The Wellness Way! After getting his wife tested properly and supporting her body, her hormonal imbalances began to normalize. After Hunter and Abby got married summer of 2019, he started chiropractic school at Northwestern Health Sciences in Minneapolis. Dr. Hunter and his wife soon found out they were pregnant and welcomed their baby boy Maximilian in July of 2020.

Hunter’s view of health had been changed forever due to his wife’s experience and he carried this new perspective with him throughout his time in chiropractic school. In his time in school, he helped start The Wellness Way student club at Northwestern where he continued to build his clinical skills and knowledge so he one day could help someone solve their health challenges like The Wellness Way had for his wife Abby!

Hunter and his wife Abby welcomed their second son Leo into the world in October of 2022, and graduated in December of 2022. He and his family moved back to their hometown of Bismarck, to open his practice. Hunter has a passion for guiding people to better health and he will give his all for his patients. He will always push himself to continue to get better for his patients, and to educate them on how to take control of their health.

Crystal Dalkin is a Wellness Way Academy graduate with a passion for helping patients find what is triggering their health issues and guiding them on a journey to health restoration. She has a special interest in helping patients with Diabetes, Autoimmune Conditions, Cancer, ADD/ADHD, and Autism.

Crystal grew up in Hales Corners, Wisconsin where she was always doing gymnastics around the yard. She went to the University of Wisconsin- Milwaukee where she received her bachelor’s in Spanish while competing as a collegiate springboard diver. Throughout that period in her life, she never gave up her passion for health and wellness. She worked as a group fitness instructor earning her AFAA Group Fitness Instructor certification and taking various other trainings in fitness and nutrition.

As an adult Crystal started to develop symptoms that no one could explain. After trying the standard medical approach and the functional medicine approach she became incredibly frustrated. This led her to begin her journey with the Wellness Way as a patient. Crystal immediately became fascinated with the Wellness Way Approach and obsessed with learning everything she could. Crystal joined the Wellness Way Academy in 2021. While diving deep into the program she worked in the clinic filling in at the front desk and as a Doctor’s Assistant. After graduating from the Academy, Crystal began to see patients as a Wellness Way Practitioner.

Dr. Catrina Lindvig, DC

Location: Williston

The Wellness Way – Williston

Dr. Catrina was born in Williston and raised in Divide County. After graduating from Divide County High School in 2009, she studied nursing and clinical lab science at Bismarck State College before moving to Davenport, Iowa to complete her Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Chiropractic degrees in February 2017. Following graduation from chiropractic school, she moved to Williston and opened Lindvig Family Chiropractic.

Shortly after opening her practice, Dr. Catrina gave birth to a beautiful baby boy. Unfortunately, because of a traumatic birth experience and underlying health issues, she found herself struggling with severe postpartum depression and anxiety. This urged her to seek help from her primary care provider, which ultimately led to a prescription for medication. She knew there had to be more to the story and it was at that point that she discovered Dr. Patrick Flynn and The Wellness Way’s approach to health. She knew immediately that this was a movement that she had to be a part of, and in November of 2018, Lindvig Family Chiropractic became the first Wellness Way Affiliate in North Dakota. Dr. Catrina was eager to share a different approach to health with the community and help others with their health struggles, but little did she know, she was about to embark on her own Wellness Way journey. Through comprehensive and complete testing, she had a direct plan as to what she needed to do to restore her health. Her experiences with lifelong weight issues, depression, mold toxicity, and hormone imbalances are what fuel her passion to help guide those with similar issues on their path to health restoration.

In the summer of 2019, she met Libby Burau, a patient who was desperately looking for answers to her 13-year long struggle with GI issues. As a registered nurse, Libby was working in a traditional medical setting, and it was because of her own Wellness Way journey that she decided to leave medicine and join forces with Dr. Catrina. Together, they opened The Wellness Way Williston in 2020. They share the primary goal of giving A Different Perspective to health to Williston and the surrounding communities. Dr. Catrina married her childhood sweetheart, Cordell, and together they keep busy chasing after their son, Carter. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, jet-skiing at the lake and living the farm life.

Dr. Devin Wagenman, DC

Location: Pensacola

The Wellness Way – Pensacola

Dr. Devin grew up in the ice tundra of West Fargo, North Dakota. Throughout time, he realized that he was not made for the brutal weather. Dr. Wagenman gradually transitioned into a warmer climate, beginning with attending Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, Iowa where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biology. With the warmer climate being much more attainable for Dr. Devin, he moved straight east to Davenport, Iowa where he attended the Fountain Head of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic. After graduating and receiving his Doctor of Chiropractic, he realized his body and lifestyle were not meant for the mid-west cold weather and moved further south to start his practice in the panhandle city of Pensacola, Florida.

Dr. Devin was introduced to chiropractic at a young age after a flurry of injuries when he was a young athlete. Adjustments helped him experience tremendous daily relief and even help him avoid medication and potential surgery after football injury in middle school. This care he received enticed him to pursue a career in chiropractic. His love for helping people brought him to The Wellness Way early in his chiropractic education and he never looked back.

Dr. Devin’s passion is aiding individuals in learning about how their body works and functions to find the root cause of the problem. Through his own health journey, he understands that most illnesses have more than one factor: and that the 3 T’s (thoughts, traumas, and toxins) need to be addressed to take stress off the body to allow it heal itself. He is excited to aid his patients in their health challenges and serve his community.

Dr. Katie Canar, DC

Location: Holmen

The Wellness Way – Holmen

Dr. Katie was born and raised in Galesville, WI. Since she was a young girl, she knew she wanted to be a chiropractor. Her father used to take her with him to his appointments after suffering a cervical disc herniation, and her interest and experiences instantly led her to this profession. She was so inspired by the results her dad achieved through chiropractic care; she decided to dedicate her life toward this passion for chiropractic. After receiving an exercise science degree from the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse, she immediately enrolled at the fountainhead of Chiropractic, Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA graduating with summa cum laude honors. Since graduating from Palmer, she has completed hundreds of hours of extra studies with the Gonstead Methodology Institute and continues to attend seminars and group meetings with other local Gonstead doctors, to fine tune her adjusting skills and further her understanding of the Gonstead System.

Outside of the office, she loves to spend time with her husband, Kyle, two kiddos, Rylee and Bowen, and her three golden retrievers, Tank, Zoey and Bailey. Rylee and Bo love to hang out at the office, so if you haven’t met them yet, Dr. Katie is sure you will soon!! Aside from chiropractic, her other passion is gymnastics. She loves to be able to share her love for that sport with all the girls. She feels very blessed to be able to have a career that allows her to do all the things she loves the most: serving her patients and community through chiropractic, teaching gymnastics, and being a mom!

Dr. Katie loves being a Chiropractor. She says “Too many of us are content with mediocre health. Health isn’t just about being without pain and symptoms. Without great habits relating to nutrition, movement, attitudes, and beliefs, true health will always be indefinable. Abundant movement and great health cannot possibly occur when the nervous system is not functioning properly. The nervous system is a phenomenal system that controls every task of the entire body. A fully functioning nervous system is the basis of great health.” She says her job as a chiropractor “is to correct anything that gets in the way of a properly functioning nervous system – whether it is what’s being consumed, how the body and spine are moving, or what a person’s day to day thought process is. Dr. Adam Wagner, DC

Location: St. Cloud

The Wellness Way – St. Cloud

Dr. Adam Wagner is enthusiastic about knowledge and learning. He has always loved learning more about health, the human body, how the human body heals, and personal growth and development. He attended Bethel University for his undergraduate and graduated with a degree in Athletic Training. After graduation, he decided to go to Chiropractic school as he loves the philosophy that chiropractic has about the human body and how it heals. He attended a talk by Dr. Patrick Flynn, and within 5 minutes of listening to him knew this was a man and a company that would help him accomplish his professional goals and become the best doctor he could possibly be. The more he learned about The Wellness Way and Dr. Patrick, along with interning at the Green Bay office for 15 weeks, the more excited he became about being a The Wellness Way doctor.

Dr. Adam is recently married to his beautiful wife Danielle. His favorite quote is by Zig Ziglar, “you can have everything in life you want, if you can just help enough other people get what they want”. That quote says a lot about having a servant mindset, among other things, which is why it resonates so strongly with him and his ability to serve his patients.

Dr. Alex Grubish, DC

Location: Eau Claire

The Wellness Way – Eau Claire

Dr. Alex is a motivated Twin Cities native with a variety of interests. As a toddler, he earned the nickname of “Robo-baby” because of his active nature. This followed him into his youth through his participation in skateboarding and hockey. He played hockey for 14 years, and during this time sustained a low back injury at the age of 14 while playing for his high school league. It was this experience that introduced Dr. Alex to the life-changing effects of chiropractic care. For a month of being injured, he was unable to run, kick a ball, or even perform the simple task of bending over. After exhausting his options in traditional healthcare without finding any solutions, Dr. Alex received care from a chiropractor who got him back on the ice in two weeks. It was that formative experience that led him to pursue a career in the health sciences.

After high school, Dr. Alex went on to attend the University of Minnesota – Duluth, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. After graduation, Dr. Alex decided to join the United States Army Corps of Engineers before attending chiropractic school at Northwestern. After beginning his studies at Northwestern, Dr. Alex became the president of the Veteran’s Club on campus and played a considerable role in advocating quality care for student veterans. While attending Northwestern, Dr. Alex also completed his Master of Science in Exercise Science at Concordia University – St. Paul. Obtaining this gave way to Dr. Alex writing his thesis on utilizing Jiu-Jitsu to manage PTSD symptoms in veterans, and now is an active member in the sport.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, Dr. Alex changed his perspective from the traditional approach of sports chiropractic to that of The Wellness Way. He discovered that the Swiss Watch principles developed by founder Dr. Patrick Flynn made sense to him, and he admired the values of the organization. Soon after, Dr. Alex obtained an internship under Dr. Patrick at the main office in Green Bay, WI during his final trimester of chiropractic school. Dr. Alex has always been fascinated by the “why” behind the occurrence of every disease and what can be done to restore function. In the spring of 2022, Dr. Alex graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University with honors. The different perspective that Dr. Alex has learned through the Wellness Way has changed his life. As a sergeant, he always reminds his soldiers of General George S. Patton’s famous words: “if everyone is thinking alike, then somebody isn’t thinking.”

Jessica Janssen, Practitioner

Location: Eau Claire

The Wellness Way – Eau Claire

Jessica grew up in Wisconsin Rapids but has made Eau Claire her home for the past 25 years. As a UW-Eau Claire graduate with a BA and MBA in Finance, she spent many years in the business world, active in the Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals, and other community organizations. From an early age, healthy living was instinctively a part of Jessica’s life. As an athlete in her teens, she knew her body felt better when fueled by real food. But it was Jessica’s experience as a new mom that ultimately pushed her to change her career path.

When her oldest son was three, he developed a terrible cough resulting in a doctor’s visit resulting in a diagnosis for pneumonia and a round of antibiotics. The cough cleared up right away, but just as quickly returned a couple weeks later. After the second round with the same cough returning, Jessica suspected something else was triggering his reaction. A friend suggested getting his food allergies tested. Since this was outside of the doctor’s recommendation, she travelled to Children’s Hospital in MN and learned that her son had 5 IgE (anaphylactic) allergies from food he was eating almost daily. Those foods were removed from his diet and the coughing never returned.

This sparked a revelation in Jessica that something like this could be not only misdiagnosed, but also led to rounds of unnecessary antibiotics and destroyed her son’s already fragile gut microbiome. His allergies persisted through his entire childhood, often accompanied with hives, lots of digestive issues, and most notably

behavior issues, including ADHD. Everything she saw started to line up as becoming increasingly common for many kids, yet it wasn’t normal!

Through a lot of research, Jessica began dig for the root cause of these issues. It was her husband who began following Dr. Patrick Flynn and the Wellness Way. She joined the Academy to become a Health Restoration Practitioner because it felt like all the dots had finally been connected from her entire life. Her instincts were always there; the body does not make mistakes. We need to find and remove the triggers and allow our bodies to heal from the inside.

Now, as a mom of four children, she is a fierce protector of her children’s health and wellbeing, including learning more about childhood vaccines and their link to common childhood ailments. Her family follows The Wellness Way lifestyle, eliminating foods that their bodies can’t have, yet still enjoying nourishing, tasty meals.

Jessica knows and understands the challenges that come with this journey, and she wants to make it easier for individuals and families based on her experience and Wellness Way Academy training.

In her free time, Jessica enjoys homesteading, gardening, food preservation, scratch cooking, and learning new ways to prepare nutrient dense foods. Her family enjoys camping, water skiing, and finding fun places to hike while on road trips.

katie

Katie Lehto, Practitioner

Location: Marquette

The Wellness Way – Marquette

Katie grew up in a small town in lower Michigan with her family and from a young age had a passion for helping people. She always felt naturally inclined to pursue a career in health care of some sort. Traditional medicine was all she ever knew as a child and certain events challenged her trust in it as she watched some of her loved pass away from cancer. She believed there had to be something more than just a medication or treatment for every health issue that a person develops.

At thirteen, she went through some trying events that were very traumatic to physically and emotionally. However, she believes that without that, she would not have ended up on the path she is now, in restorative health with The Wellness Way. Her health started to decline after that happened. She was put on multiple medications that caused extreme weight gain, brain fog, digestive issues, and major inflammation. By 14 she had gained almost 100 pounds within a year and had zero idea how to get a handle on it. She saw therapists and psychiatrists and medical doctors who all told her to just work on portion control. That was the only solution they had. So, she continued on, until her early adulthood when she believed issues with her thyroid were becoming out of hand. Of course, her doctor said her TSH looked great, and thyroid is fine. She disagreed. Then a friend told her about this doctor in Iron Mountain who had helped bring her husband’s cancer into remission by using food and herbs and lifestyle changes. That sparked her interest big time as she had so many struggles with her health that she couldn’t find answers to. So, she made an appointment with this doctor, and it was the best decision she could have made.

At 21 years old she was finally able to get answers to her health questions that she had for so long. She was given a clear path to achieving her health goals and none of it included medications! That was music to her ears. She made major lifestyle changes with her diet, supplements, beauty products, and most importantly in her mindset! The phrase that she heard at The Wellness Way that stuck with her the most was, “The body does not make mistakes. It only responds to its environment.” She put her body in the right environment and her life started to change. Weight loss, clear skin, major reduction in depression and anxiety, minimal pain, and increased quality of life were just some of the benefits she saw. She knew that with this approach to health, her life would never be the same.

At 23 she married her husband, became a stepmom to three beautiful kids and soon after had a baby boy of their own. Her family soon jumped on board and also started making changes and eventually got tested at The Wellness Way and started seeing incredible results of their own.

Since that first appointment she had, she knew she had found her passion. She had worked in traditional health care as a CNA for years and knew that was not her path. So as soon as the opportunity to join The Wellness Way Academy arose, she took it and never looked back. After graduating, she decided she wanted to bring this approach to health to her own community of Marquette and start
changing lives!

In her free time, she loves traveling, playing, and writing music, swimming, long boarding and of course spending time with her family!

Meet Kelsey! Kelsey earned her degree as a Registered Nurse (RN) from Marion Technical College in 2015. Upon graduation, she started working at a local hospital in the ICU, where she has gained a great deal of experience. A year later, she went back to school at Purdue University for her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

While Kelsey had been seen by a chiropractor a few times in high school for sports related injuries, she was never fully exposed to everything chiropractic had to offer. Dr. Todd and Kelsey were introduced to each other by mutual friends 8 years ago, who thought they would be a good match. The two started to date shortly after, eventually getting married a few years later. In the beginning of their relationship, Kelsey and Dr. Todd had some conflicting viewpoints about patient care due to their different healthcare backgrounds. However, as time passed, Kelsey was able to see the results that chiropractic and taking care of the body as a whole produced and has since become a huge advocate. Given her nursing background, she brings a great wealth of knowledge to the office, where she helps with patient care, as well as takes care of all of our blood work in the office.

When Kelsey is not in the office she enjoys spending time with Todd and Bria. Most of the time the three of them are rushing to get outdoors for some sort of adventure or to work on projects!

Andrew Coblentz, Practitioner

Location: Shipshewana

The Wellness Way – Shipshewana

Andrew has over 8 years of hands-on experience, working in the natural health field under the direct mentorship of several other Doctors of Natural Medicine. During this time he completed his degree in Bachelor of Natural Health Studies. He also became certified in live cell analysis, and did health consultations on a daily basis. He taught under well known doctors and practitioners such as Dr. Robert Morse, Dr. Calvin Streeter DO, John Keim, William Christner ND, and others.

From an early age, Andrew questioned how the body functions, why the body gets sick, and wondered what could be done to prevent disease. He was not satisfied with the mediocre idea that sickness and disease were simply a matter of time in coming and there was nothing that could be done to prevent it. It only made sense that the health of the body could be maintained just like a car or any other equipment. Surely one didn’t have to wait until he was faced with heart surgery or chemo/radiation to start thinking about maintaining health! He found that detoxifying and alkalizing the body were priorities in keeping the body well and alive.

Andrew’s interest in the study of the human body may have been born in part through his own intestinal problems as a young boy. Or perhaps from watching friends and relatives dying prematurely from the diseases of today’s society. Struggling with what seems to have been gluten and lactose intolerance, Andrew suffered a lot of gut pain. After several years of engaging natural medicine, raw foods, and fasting in his early 20’s, those issues greatly improved.

In a culture where home remedies are the norm in every household, there was never a shortage of old remedies, concoctions, etc. The hottest one Andrew ever made was a combination of fresh ground habanero peppers, garlic, horseradish, ginger root, and onions in a base of apple cider vinegar. It was called Flu Buster. A shot of that either cured you or killed you.

“Dr. Ryan Krog became interested in the Wellness Way philosophy for a combination of reasons. After a close family member was written off as untreatable by doctors in several specialties, he sought out ways to prove them wrong. Also, with being a college athlete, he always felt that there was more to being healthy than simply not being sick. He also always had a strong relationship with chiropractic growing up but realized there was so much more he could do to help people truly be healthy.

Dr. Krog earned his Doctor of Chiropractic from Palmer College in February 2020. He completed his Bachelor’s in Health and Wellness Management from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls. He has also completed continued training with Chiropractic BioPhysics.

Dr. Veronica De La Cruz, DC

Location: Aurora

The Wellness Way – Aurora

Dr. Veronica De La Cruz, knew early on that she wanted to help people live a happy and healthy life.

As a teenager (16 years old), she collapsed on the dinner table from exhaustion due to the demands put on her body by working long hours at the farm, school and stress.

She went to her medical doctor by herself (without parents) because she felt very sick and had a rash on her body. She walked out very disappointed after being told that it was normal for her age and just to rub some cream on the rash.

No labs done. No exam done. No hope.

Also, her dad passed away at the age of 62 from massive heart attack. He worked so hard all his life for the American dream, only to collapse and not enjoy everything he had earned. That incident was another awakening that she needed to help people like her dad, which did not receive the proper care.

There had to be a different approach that would give people the proper healing and hope.

And that became her mission in life, to find another way to get people their health back and thus real joy in life.

We should not vibrate at low frequency due to poor health but high vibration to reach our optimal potential.

She attended University of Illinois where she received her bachelors in 1997 and received a second bachelors in human biology and Doctorate of Chiropractic from National University of Health Sciences in 2001.

She is passionate about enhancing her education by attending seminars around the country for personal and health education growth every year.

She is bilingual English and Spanish.

PERSONAL: She loves to do Crossfit because it physically challenges her mind and body. She loves to travel the world and immerse herself in other cultures to better understand citizens on this earth.

Dr. Paul Hambrick, DC

Location: Seymour

The Wellness Way – Seymour

“L’Amour fascinated me when I was a kid” Paul says. Along with being an author, he was an elephant trainer, a deck hand, a boxer, a ranch hand…he did everything. I wanted to have a lot of experiences, too. So, I’ve been an Army medic in charge of a clinic in Korea, a truck driver, dishwasher, a deck hand on a river boat, an electrician, carpenter, writer, a shoe repairman and a web developer and marketing manager for a manufacturer. I have a B.S. in history from Georgia College & State University, and I graduated from chiropractic school in 2002.

Dr. Hambrick was led to become a chiropractor after a powerful personal experience. When I was in the army, I was working in the motor pool one day, and jumped off the back of a truck. I landed on a patch of ice and slipped and wrenched my back. I immediately felt pain in my low back that radiated down the back of my leg.

I had grown up under traditional chiropractic care and knew I needed one, but since I was in a country that didn’t license chiropractors and since the military, at that time did not utilize chiropractic care, I was out of luck. I just had to live with the pain until I came home, and it gradually got worse and worse.

When I got back to the States, one of my first stops was my chiropractor, and I had relief, but it only lasted a very short while, and required several visits to experience any lasting relief. By ‘lasting’ I mean relief that lasted longer than just a few hours. I continued to deal with low back and sciatic pain on a near constant basis for the next 10 years.

As luck would have it, Dr. Hambrick’s sister was engaged to a chiropractic student who would be a fourth generation chiropractor and whose family had prominently practiced specific upper cervical chiropractic for several generations.

I thought all chiropractors were the same, but as it was explained to me, an upper cervical chiropractor focuses on the correction of the first bone in the spine, called the atlas bone. Being the first bone in the spine, and the bone through which all the nerves in the body pass through, if it’s not corrected properly, then the problem hasn’t really been corrected. I was working as an electrician at the time, and this concept made sense to me because if the main circuit breaker on a panel is tripped, then it doesn’t matter how many light bulbs you change… it’s still going to be dark. To me, it seemed the atlas bone was like the main circuit breaker of your nervous system.

Paul received his first upper cervical correction from the chiropractic student on a day when his back and sciatic nerve was particularly painful.

He used an archaic machine to make the adjustment to my neck. I heard the sound the machine made, but felt practically nothing when the adjustment was made because it was so gentle. However, when I sat up on the table, I could tell something was different. I felt different. I stood up and my pain was GONE! Not only was my pain gone, but I could tell something had changed… something was ‘fixed.’ This wasn’t just pain relief. My problem had been corrected!

It wasn’t long after this that Dr. Hambrick made the decision to share with other suffering people the solution that had elluded him for so many years.

Functional chiropractic isn’t the answer to everyone’s health problems, but it is the answer for some. For those people who have ‘tried everything’ but haven’t had their nervous system checked, it’s worth getting checked and ruling out whether functional chiropractic care might be the solution to your problem.

While Dr. Hambrick started his career journey with the sole purpose of correcting atlas misalignments, he has since learned how to take care of all kinds of structural and neurological problems without the use of drugs or surgery. He has learned to help people with migraines, disc problems, chronic degenerative knee pain, peripheral neuropathy and he has even learned how to have healthy, happy, pain-free feet using a natural approach that also helps with their other structural problems as well. If your foundation is structurally sound, then the rest of your body has a better chance of being structurally sound,”” says Dr. Hambrick.

I believe the job of a chiropractor, especially one who practices functional chiropractic is to find nerve interference and correct it; whether it is occurring as a result of spinal misalignments, structural imbalance, nerve impingement, joint proprioception problems, nutritional deficiencies or even brain injuries. Functional chiropractors try to restore, recharge and refuel malfunctions in the nervous system wherever they are occurring, without the use of drugs or surgery.

I’m able to understand different perspectives. I’ve been a business owner, an employer, and an employee. I’ve been a child and a parent. I’m able to retain key life lessons in everything I do, and apply what I’ve learned. This is especially true as I try to help you solve your health problem.

Paul enjoys producing and publishing two podcasts, both relating to upper cervical chiropractic. He publishes an upper cervical patient newsletter. He and his family are active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield, MO. He also likes to read, but is quick to say his priorities are his wife and six children.

My kids range in age from 4 year to 13 years,”” Paul says, so there’s not much free time. We try to do a lot of family stuff. Right now life is taken up with little people and I want to be a good influence on them. I want to teach them things. It’s a big responsibility.

Beth Cook D.C. graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX with her Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Science with a Minor in Dance. She then went onto Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, TX to earn her Doctorate of Chiropractic and Bachelors of Science in Health and Wellness. It wasn’t until college that Dr. Beth Cook had any experience with chiropractic care. She shadowed a Chiropractor out of curiosity and was blown away at the power chiropractic had. It was that experience combined with her ambition to help people in a more holistic way that guided her to chiropractic and The Wellness Way. I love what I do! I love making an impact on the health of my community and guiding people in a different direction, rather than using drugs or surgery. Doctor guided care which uses only drugs and surgery has become the number three cause of death in this county. That has got to change and I want to be part of that change

Dr. Jordan Weil, DC

Location: Eau Claire

The Wellness Way – Eau Claire

A Wisconsin native, Dr. Jordan grew up in Milwaukee, WI. In high school, he participated in many sporting events, including track and field, wrestling, and CrossFit. Though these activities exposed him to the world of wellness, he first discovered his passion for chiropractic and a different perspective on healthcare when some of his family members became very sick and passed away at young ages. While his family’s health history heavily influenced Dr. Jordan’s road to chiropractic work, his own health struggles also played a large role.

Early in high school, Dr. Jordan began experiencing knee pain that prevented him from participating in track and field. The pain was so bad that he crawled to the athletic trainer during practice one day, just to be told he should “ice and rest it.” Instead, Dr. Jordan eventually found relief from his pain by fueling his body correctly and receiving chiropractic adjustments to his knees and feet. Dr. Jordan spent years researching answers and seeking a different perspective, which led him to realize that the human body doesn’t make mistakes, and it is capable of healing itself. With his new understanding, Dr. Jordan became passionate about ensuring none of his patients would have to go so long without answers to their health concerns.

Dr. Jordan has significant training and hands-on experience, beginning with his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. There he studied Pre-Med and Kinesiology, later going on to pursue his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, IA. While working on his doctorate, Dr. Jordan studied with top chiropractors in the profession and trained for three and a half years under world recognized spine and extremity expert, Dr. Mitch Mally. Dr. Jordan had the honor of traveling to England and France with Dr. Mally to teach techniques to other chiropractic students, an opportunity that only the most dedicated interns receive! He also spent three years learning from the Wellness Way practitioners in the student program while going through school, and another seven months training beside Dr. Patrick Flynn at the Wellness Way corporate office in Green Bay, WI.

Dr. Jordan is extremely passionate about finding the root cause to problems and helping his patients unlock the body’s full potential for recovery. He truly believes that the healing journey can begin for anyone at any age, and he lives by the words of his mentors, seeking wisdom and working with consistency and purpose. Dr. Jordan is determined to bring this new perspective of health to the Eau Claire area.

During his free time, you can find Dr. Jordan practicing his golf game, weightlifting at the local gym, or relaxing with his beautiful wife, Jenna and their two dogs, Lucy and Chloe.

Dr. Jason Smith, DC

Location: Knoxville

The Wellness Way – Knoxville

Dr Jason Smith, or “Doc” as most will know him, is as analytical as analytical gets. The reason I start out with that sentence is that it speaks to the fact that he wants to get it right. No matter what it is, he wants to do it right and that is innate to who he is. So when you come into Liberty Chiropractic, you aren’t just coming for an adjustment…you are saying yes to getting it right.

Dr. Jason Smith was born in Texas, raised in Kansas, and attended high school in Georgia. In all of these states, he wrestled and over the years developed the character of an elite athlete who learned to sacrifice wants for the need to achieve, put hard work before play, to set goals and achieve them all the way to becoming a high school State Champion for Troup County in Georgia. He went on to wrestle for Carson Newman University and graduated with a bachelors of Science.

Jason continued his education at Life Chiropractic University to fulfill his dream of being a chiropractor. After graduating Magma cum laude, he went to Dothan, AL and practiced under a seasoned, well-established Chiropractor. When it was time to put down roots, he and his wife Cyndi knew that their roots were in east Tennessee. So, in 1998, his dream finally came to reality. Doc hung his very own sign and began his practice here in Knoxville. Over the years he made some name changes, upgrades, and acquired more education. The one thing that has not changed is his passion to help people lead a high quality of life. Doc has had the same vision since the beginning, to release people to live up to their full potential and provide healing and hope to others. His philosophy in life is if you’re going to do something, go all out and be your best. He carries this out daily in how he cares for his patients, himself and his hobbies. He is certified in upper cervical care, extremity adjusting, Chiropractic BioPhysics, Active Release Techniques, and whiplash trauma. He’s a nationally recognized speaker on health and wellness and a published research author.

Jason met his wife Cyndi at Carson Newman, and they married in January of his junior year. They have been married for almost 30 years and have three amazing young adults, Zachary, Cassie and Eli all ranging in age from 28 to 17. He takes life and the ability to live it freely, seriously. That is why he changed his name to Liberty Chiropractic and coined the phrase “Give me liberty or give me death! Give me, Liberty Chiropractic!” He lives, breathes and believes in what he does and knows it will bring liberty and freedom from pain and disease.

Dr. Ryan Davis, DC

Location: Largo

The Wellness Way – Largo

Dr. Ryan grew up in Gainesville, Florida. He has always been amazed by the complexity of the human body; Anatomy and Physiology was his favorite subject! While studying at the University of Florida, he decided he wanted to help those who were sick become well again. To do that, he knew he needed to take a whole-body approach, and in 2013, he graduated with a doctorate degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Port Orange, FL. Through his years of education, this quote from Thomas Edison has always inspired him, “The doctor of the future will give no medications but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet, and in the cause of prevention of disease.”

Knowing that our bodies never make a mistake and we have an amazing ability to heal ourselves, we can begin the healing process by fixing the “master controller” of the body, the nervous system. As a Wellness Way practitioner, he is better able to help people with an array of conditions such as hormone imbalances, GI issues, auto-immune, infertility concerns, and so much more by starting with the root of the problem: inflammation. His goal for opening the Wellness Way Largo clinic is to make the community where he works and plays the healthiest it can possibly be and get people back to doing what they love to do. He and his wife Lindsay love the Tampa Bay area because it’s perfect for raising their family. They are blessed to have 2 boys, Breck and Oliver and the newest addition, 8 month old Madeline. They enjoy the outdoors – dog parks for their boxer Tanner, boating, farmers markets, and festivals along with the occasional Netflix binge on the side.

Dr. Shannon Bundy, DC

Location: Westminster

The Wellness Way – Westminster

As a youth, Dr. Shannon Bundy played every sport her school offered. She was MVP of her softball team, the only girl on the soccer team, a second-degree black belt, and won first place as National Kickboxing Champion when she was 16. After graduation, she immediately went to college where she was in school for 8 years, sat constantly, completely stopped working out, and gave birth to 5 children. What a life flip! It does not take much to imagine the toll this took on her emotionally and physically. Fortunately, this started her journey on recognizing how the everyday health decisions we make “Toxins, Trauma, and Thoughts” greatly affect a persons quality of life.

Dr. Bundy specializes in health restoration. This means she thinks and acts differently to solve the health care challenges others cannot. This includes high quality testing, in-depth custom labs, and hands on support for her patients individual needs. This different perspective allows her to work with many different health conditions such as: autoimmune, cancer, hormones, thyroid, infertility, digestive concerns, physical ailments and so much more.

Graduating in 2017 from Texas Chiropractic College, she has an Associates in Biology, a Bachelors in Human Biology, and is a Doctor of Chiropractic. With her additional Wellness Way training and other certifications in chiropractic she feels her clinic captures what health should be focused on: full body care, healing from the inside out.

Dr. Jacqueline Berens, DC

Location: Centennial

The Wellness Way – Centennial

Dr. Jacqueline loved clinical practice but was driven to find a solution to complex health issues because of her husband, Paul’s health. This drive led her to be introduced to Dr. Patrick Flynn and The Wellness Way. Dr. Jacqueline has a deep passion for helping people find the root cause of their issues to restore their quality of life. She often says, “I love you, but don’t want to see you” because she knows the body can restore itself when given the opportunity to heal.

Dr. Jacqueline was born in Wichita, Kansas but has lived in Colorado from a young age. Dr. Jacqueline knew she wanted to be a Doctor of Chiropractic since she was fifteen when she injured her elbow as a high-level gymnast. She was unable to do gymnastics for six months while she tried many doctors and therapies to help her injury. Nothing worked, until a teammate suggested trying chiropractic. She was back to gymnastics in two weeks without any pain! From this experience, she knew she wanted to share the same life changing, natural, holistic healthcare with others. Dr. Jacqueline graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a Bachelor’s in Integrative Physiology in 2008, and graduated with top honors, Sum Cum Laude, from Life University with a Doctor of Chiropractic in late 2011.

Dr. Jacqueline enjoys traveling, camping, and anything that involves having fun! She loves spending time with her husband Paul and her children Odinn and Declann.

The Wellness Way – Columbia

I grew up in Pleasanton, CA and graduated from Amador Valley High School in 1992. I then went to York, NE to attend York College on a soccer scholarship and to attain my under graduate studies in pre-Chiropractic. It was in York where I met my wife Shelby, who is from Rhinelander, WI. We married in August of 1995. I attended Palmer College of Chiropractic and graduated in June of 1999. I have been in private practice in Fayette, MO., since April of 2001, and now have a second location in Columbia, MO., since 2005. We have 4 wonderful children Aiden, Myy, Emi and Zechman.

I absolutely love what I have been called to do, and that is to help families maximize their health potential through Chiropractic. No other profession gets to intimately work with the innate healing potential the Creator placed in each of us like the Chiropractic profession. Every day we get to witness lives changing and health improving by turning on the power of the human body through spinal corrections. When the brain and body can talk without interruption, the Creator’s design can do what is was designed to do and that is to heal on its own. We look forward to the opportunity of sharing our passion for living healthy full lives and taking part in your health goals.

Dr. Tomas Hemgren, DC

Location: Iron Mountain

The Wellness Way – Iron Mountain

I was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden where my family still resides. I started my Chiropractic career as a 16 year old when I received my first adjustment. Having gained major benefits from getting adjusted, it sparked my interest to learn more about the profession and health in general.

I did most of my undergraduate studies in Sweden and finished them in the US before I started Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa. Going thru the program completely opened my eyes to health and what it really is. It changed my mindset from the allopathic thinking of sick care to a functional healthcare way of thinking. I realized that the sick care model is failing as people are just getting sicker and chronic disease is on the rise. I learned that we have to take a more functional and preventative approach to regain and keep our health. The answer to our health problems cannot be found in a bottle of pills.

I have been a Chiropractor now for 17 years. I have worked in England, Ireland, Sweden and USA during those years and I have gained a lifetime of experience. One thing that I have realized is that it doesn’t matter what country you are in, the health of people is slowly deteriorating. There are rising levels of chronic disease lurking around the corner. People are taking more medication, only to see their health get worse. It is difficult to stand back and watch this deterioration when we have solutions to these ailments!

This is our mission today… helping people regain their health and preventing them from heading down the path of chronic disease, medications by the handful, a loss of happiness and a reduced lifespan. We aim to teach others that there is another way to live; a healthy way full off vitality and happiness. Not simply ‘just getting by day to day’. It’s about quality not quantity. Together, we can make it happen!

From a very young age, I knew my calling in life was to help others. My journey began with my first adjustment when I was 14. I suffered with horrible menstrual issues and chiropractic care was my only relief!! Not only did my female problems improve immensely, but other GI issues also cleared up. I made the decision to pursue chiropractic as a profession just shortly after starting college. I didn’t truly understand the impact chiropractic could have on health until I began school at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport IA.

Upon graduation, Dr. Tomas and I practiced in England for one year before opening our own practice in Galway, Ireland. We married in 2004 and had our first child, Madelaine, in 2006…born at home. Raising children so far from family was not our intent and we began the process of moving back to the USA. In 2009 we were blessed with our second child Alexander and in 2012 our third child Samuel, both also born at home.

Helping to restore health through chiropractic care is of huge importance, however practicing for the past 17 years in 3 different countries has also taught me that our society is in need of more. We have NO clear understanding of what it means to be healthy or how our daily choices impact or vitality. I know this from my own personal experience and watching that of my family and friends. Our world needs a wake-up call. And we are ready to take on that challenge! Our aim is to help our patients become ‘HEALthy’…through HEALing. Whether that be with chiropractic care, the Wellness Way Approach, nutrition or diet changes, we are here to help!

Melissa is a Registered Nurse and a Wellness Way Academy student. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Bellin College of Nursing in 2009. Her passion for the healthcare field began at a young age. She started her career as a RN in Labor and Delivery. As her family grew, she transitioned to working in an OBGYN clinic where she began to see a lot of common themes and concerns. “I always knew I wanted to be a nurse, but as the years have gone by, I realized nursing isn’t what it was when I started. I knew there had to be another way for people to get answers and live a healthier life.”

Once Melissa started her journey as a patient with The Wellness Way, she knew she could no longer continue in the traditional healthcare system. She quickly fell in love with The Wellness Way approach on restoring and supporting our bodies, as God had created them. She continues to be passionate about women’s health; focusing on a healthy pregnancy and fertility struggles.

Melissa was born and raised in Wisconsin. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys traveling just about anywhere but especially where the sun and water are warm! You can find her watching her oldest daughter play volleyball and on the weekends at the ball field with her son – baseball & football. Her twins were recently in dance and just a joy to watch them grow.

Melissa lives in Pulaski, WI with her husband Jeremy and their beautiful children Natalie, Nolan, Nina and Nora.
