New studies coming from Israel indicate once again that natural immunity is the best protection against the Delta variant. Israel has run one of the most aggressive vaccine campaigns in the world. A large scale, pre-print study indicated that those who’d never had SARS-CoV-2 and received two doses of the Pfizer vaccine were at an over 13 times greater risk of breakthrough infection compared to those with natural immunity. 1

The study concludes:

This study demonstrated that natural immunity confers longer lasting and stronger

protection against infection, symptomatic disease and hospitalization caused by the

Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, compared to the BNT162b2 two-dose vaccine-induced

Immunity.1

Variants and Natural Immunity

Studies have shown, including the one above, that natural immunity is much better as variants continue to mutate. Some have suggested that those with exposure to the original SARS-CoV-1 may have some natural resistance to what we’ve come to know as COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2. In fact, Peter Doshi, editor for the British Medical Journal, submitted:

At least six studies have reported T cell reactivity against SARS-CoV-2 in 20 to 50 percent of people with no known exposure to the virus.2

We hear about breakthrough cases daily; it appears they aren’t so rare. Many speculate it’s because there are no vaccines for any specific variant after the initial one, especially Delta.3 However, it seems the strategy used by the U.S. government and others around the world are to use the same vaccine as a booster. Whether it will work or not hasn’t been shown in any data, indicated CDC’s Rochelle Walensky, but she has hope.4

Natural immunity provides a broader spectrum, superior immunity, even if it was from the original strain.

Hold the Phone — Doc’s Thoughts:

Isn’t it amazing how they continue to act surprised that natural immunity is superior to a vaccine? I seriously can’t believe we are still having this discussion. I had COVID back in October 2020. I had a little fever for the weekend, stayed home, supported my immune system, drank a ton of water, slept. You know, all the stuff we were taught to do by our elders for generations. Do you think I’m scared to come in contact with a new variant? NOPE! Do you want to know why? My immune system is brilliant. I have antibodies that will protect me. Here’s proof:

Do you know what else? At one point those antibodies will deplete. You don’t want antibodies to float around forever, that’s the sign of an overactive system that will lead to autoimmune issues. Do you think I’ll be scared then? Nope, again! My body also has T- and B-cells with built-in memory and fighting power to kick my immune system back into gear if it were to encounter anything that resembled that bugger that charged up those antibodies in the first place! I’ve had my T- and B-cells tested. I will reveal them on September 11, at the Health Freedom Event we are hosting.

I’ve screamed it a million times, and I’ll continue to do so. This is basic, normal, immunology 101 stuff. Your body is brilliant. God didn’t say, “I created you, but your immune system is a bit weak, so here are some toxic chemicals some scientists put together to correct that.” No! He created you for health. Your body has an innate immune system that knows what to do. Yes, sometimes it is weakened because of some of the stuff we encounter just by living. That’s why we have to pay attention and help weed out the dysfunction so that health can be restored.

We use an analogy at The Wellness Way, the fireman and the carpenter. In an emergency, you may need a firefighter, but to live in a healthy home, you’ll need a carpenter. A firefighter can put out the emergency fire, but they won’t help you rebuild your home. That’s not the training he has. A medical doctor is the fireman who will use his axes and hoses to put out the fire. A carpenter will find the spots in your foundation and structure that are weak and may lead to an emergency situation if not corrected. Let’s fix those things so that they don’t become an issue!

You need to pay more attention to the host, not the virus. How healthy is the host? Are you supporting your immune system? Are you eating healthy, exercising, supporting your immune system when it comes in contact with something that may challenge it? Are you taking care of yourself? If the host is strong, it will be able to fight off what may otherwise be a threat.

This is what we help you do at The Wellness Way. We help you focus on how healthy and strong the host is. We listen to your personal story. You aren’t a diagnostic code, you are a person! We don’t just guess; we test with cutting-edge and common-sense diagnostics. We formulate a unique restoration plan specifically for you. Then, we guide you through the process. We don’t leave you to figure it out with a pill and a bland diet. We help the host (your body) be more suited for health and life than illness and suffering.

If you are wondering if you have antibodies, you can check by having a simple blood test done. If you are looking for a broader picture with your T- and B-cells, you can also have those tested. Reach out to one of The Wellness Way clinics to help you get a clearer picture on the status of your immune system and how to support it!
